The San Diego Adjunct Faculty Association is dedicated to promoting the professional treatment, economic welfare and equitable rights of adjunct faculty and their students.
SDAFA is a non-profit organization by, for, and of community college adjunct faculty who work within San Diego County. SDAFA was originally founded in the early 1990’s by a group of adjunct faculty at San Diego Mesa College who saw a need to increase the voice of adjunct faculty. Over time the group became inactive but it has recently been reborn, The new SDAFA is an official association with a Constitution and Bylaws and an elected Board of Directors including representatives from each of the eight San Diego County Community Colleges: Cuyamaca College, Grossmont College, MiraCosta College, Palomar College, San Diego City College, San Diego Mesa College, San Diego Miramar College, and Southwestern College, as well as representation from non-credit, continuing education instructors.
