Carlynne Allbee, Treasurer & Mesa College Representative

Carlynne Allbee has been an Adjunct Instructor at Mesa College since 1982.  Like many other Adjuncts, she has had other jobs, and for most of that time, it was as an Accountant in a variety of industries.  She is a founding member (SDAFA).

Carlynne feels it is important that the Adjuncts at Mesa College have a representative to voice their concerns when appropriate, watch for actions that will have an effect on Adjuncts, and be someone that has current experience as an Adjunct and for that, not only is she active in SDAFA, but she is also an Adjunct Representative to the Academic Senate at Mesa College.

Ways that Carlynne has tried to help her fellow Adjuncts include creating a document “Tips for Adjuncts at Mesa College;” researching then posting information for Adjuncts regarding Social Security and WEP; and posting tips about the homework you need to do before you apply for unemployment.

“I strongly believe in SDAFA’s philosophy of Adjuncts helping Adjuncts. If we don’t help each other, how can we expect anyone else to help?”
