With COVID-19 everything is up in the air. But it’s a good time to take stock of our online resources.

City College got lots of CARES money for you to have access to the equipment you need to teach remotely, so if you need anything, make sure to ask your Dean so they get a funding request in.

Pete Haro is our online mentor and stays up with current information. He recommends that you call the District Tech Support hotline with problems: 619-388-7000

To get access to your roster, for grades, to get add codes (permission numbers) you go to PeopleSoft/ My Portal (https://myportal.sdccd.edu/)

To set up your classes, they recommend that you use CANVAS (https://sdccd.instructure.com/) but you’re not required to. You could use another class management platform, email, Tik Tok, carrier pidgeon, whatever… The advantage of using Canvas is that most everyone else is, so your students are forced to learn it.

The other trendy communication software that many are using is Zoom and you can get a free account from ConferZoom (https://www.conferzoom.org/ConferZoom/SignUp)

If anyone knows where our regular mail is being stored, or finds any mistakes or omissions, please let me know and I’ll update this.
