Different faculty groups define equity in different ways. Adjuncts prioritize equal pay for equal work and job security. Doctoral faculty prioritize recognition of training and credentials. Early-career contract faculty want competitive starting salaries. The district prioritizes flexibility and cost control. And the union is attempting to negotiate progress within structural constraints that many faculty argue should be challenged more aggressively.

They are reinterpreting their union motto “An injury to one is an injury to all” to mean “One colleague being underpaid is an affront to all faculty.”
These corrupt unions instead use contract negotiation and selective grieving to enshrine privileges for tenure-track faculty. Unions conspire with management to channel the surplus-value of contingent labor to tenure-track faculty and administrators.
