Adjuncts problems tend to be swept under the rug by politicians, administrations, and unions. Often they claim ignorance. Research helps bring our situation to light and may provoke change. Please consider helping out with the following research project.

This email serves as an invitation to participate in a research study that is focused on how being a contingent employee affects California community college professors?

You are being invited to participate in this study because you are a part-time community college professor in California. This study is part of my Doctor of Education program at Northeastern University and is being conducted with oversight of Northeastern University’s Institutional Review Board.

The purpose of this Action Research study is to investigate how being a contingent employee affects part-time community college professors. The knowledge generated from this action research study is expected to inform how contingent employment affects part-time community college professors.

Your feedback will help me plan for changes and improvements. If you volunteer to take part in this study, you will be asked to complete a survey that takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. If you choose to provide your contact information on the survey, you may be contacted to participate in an interview lasting 45-60 minutes. I will ask you questions about your experience as a contingent employee. Participation is entirely voluntary.
