Hello everyone,
If you are old enough, as I am, you are being inundated with emails and snail mail for Medicare programs since this is Open Enrollment time. Don’t do anything until you read this.
• Are you covered by the SDCCD District’s Health Insurance or any other employer provided Health Insurance? If the answer is yes, then you are not eligible for Medicare.
• If the answer is no, and you are old enough to go on to Medicare, contact VEBA who is the SDCCD’s provider for Health Insurance because we can get group rates for them. This applies to those of you working for other Districts or school districts
• Even if you never had school district provided insurance, you can do this because you worked for a VEBA employer.
• If you are already enrolled in Medicare but not the one through VEBA, call them. Their plan might be a better plan for you because of the group rates they offer to us.
• VEBA’s phone number is 1-888-828-4953

You are here in our website, SDAFA.org. Please explore it. Many of the postings are from previous workshops. Please also join SDAFA using the link at the website.

Membership is free this year.

We also have a Facebook page, San Diego Adjunct Faculty Assoc. Some of the postings are announcements, some humor, and some news we are sharing. You are welcome to join it and to post to the page.

SDAFA is not a union. We encourage you to belong to the union representing your district. For SDCCD, that union is AFT Guild 1931.
