SDCCD Adjuncts: Did you file for unemployement? I do it after I get home from my last class since there is a one week waiting period, and I want that week to start. Jim Mahler, from AFT Guild always sends out good reminders to apply.
I got my EDD robo call this morning and it reminded me that I may not have told you this part.

EDD’s robo call tells you to expect an eligibilty phone interview and to be able ….then they tell you a two hour time frame and the date. Mine will be Thursday, June 6th between 8 am and 10 am
When the person does call, make a point of telling him or her that
1. We are not guaranteed classes.
2. Even if we have a TAO, it means Tentative Assignment Offer with the operative word being Tentative.
3. The district can and has been known to cancel our classes even after the first class meeting.
4. Can you do any other work? That is up to you and your background. I tell them no, I am a community college instructor. Because of physical limitations I now have, I can’t go back to being an accountant.
